Many brands opt for metallic effects such as Gold, Silver, Bronze and Rose Gold for that extra sparkle to their packaging labels…but how is it achieved?
Foiling is often the first port of call for metallic labelling, the technique favours medium print runs and works beautifully on clear materials but of course, there is always a limitation for businesses…
That limitation is usually a “cost vs value” showdown, where the bank gets the final say.

How do we help clients achieve these metallic effects?
The secret? – A clever piece of printing alchemy and our silver label material.
We use the metallic properties in the Silver label substrate. Overprinting with a thin coat of UV ink in the right shades can produce authentic metallics with a simple coloured layer.
This eliminates the expenses of foiling plates and foil transfer itself.
How To Achieve Gold Print:
Various shades of yellows can imitate different carats of gold. The purer the yellow, the higher the carat!
Paramount Labels recommend around Pantone 0131 – 130 for an authentic result.
How To Achieve Bronze & Copper Print:
Browny-orange shades create effects similar to Copper and Bronze.
Paramount Labels recommends around Pantones 714 to 7522 for Bronze. Around Pantone 021 for a Copper finish.
How To Achieve Rose Gold Print:
Use Dusty Rose for the popular Rose Gold effect, Paramount Labels recommend around Pantone 1767.
